I try not to do this activity too often, just to maintain the excitement, but every time I pull out the shaving cream from the cabinet, the kiddos go nuts and I'm reminded of just how many skills kiddos can practice without ever realizing it!
The kiddos can write their names, make shapes, and draw pictures. Plus, as they squish the shaving cream and work to control their slippery fingers they are stretching and strengthening their fine motor muscles. Plus, you don't have to worry about adding any more stains to the kiddos' clothes. But best part about this activity might be that it leaves the classroom smelling clean and fresh.
I brought out the shaving cream yesterday (the day before Thanksgiving) to review Word Wall Words, clean the tables, and, frankly, just have a good time before the break. Once again, a great success!
